04/09/08 - If you are visiting here because of my signature I hope you realize that my pipes are not for sale. If you have something you make and you want to trade, I might like that though...

04/07/08 - I just dug out the snow by my shed so I can start working again. I have three pipes ready for their first firing, but it will be a while before I actually get to it.

07/11/07 - The previous three blanks all broke. But today's three came off just fine. I think the main difference is soaking the mandrel in water before applying the clay. I think it swells the wood, then as it dries, the wood shrinks a little, preventing cracking and easing removal.

07/09/07 - Three new blanks on the hanger, two narrow ones with the black marking one which has succeeded more than the other, and one half inch bore.

07/08/07 - Missed a few days, in the mean time the new pipe is mostly done, but the final silver didn't take well and will have to be redone. Also bisqued two new mouth piece geometries, one of which worked so well that Jack (one of my testers) was able to get a note out of it in a few minutes.

07/04/07 - New pipe is well bisqued, holes and mouthpiece cut to tune, but was not able to get a D out of it, had to bring it to an E. Plays well, but we will have to see how the final firing goes. I have to decide on a design, I am thinking of a minimalist geometric.

07/03/07 - New 10 inch pipe in bisque kiln at 01:20. Made a little thick on the tune hole area, with a Shaku-voicing.
